Welcome to my studio. I'm excited to share my photos. I  hope you enjoy my work. Thank you for visiting.

You are in a condensed glimpse of my portfolio in English, a way to taste its spirit, even if you don’t speak my language. If any image speaks to your heart, I’d be glad to share the full story behind it in English. Feel free to reach out via the contact form.

About Ran Rosen

About Ran Rosen

Early Years

My journey in photography began at the age of 14, in the darkroom of the Carmit boarding school in Jerusalem. That was where I fell in love with the ability to create an image from light. Since then, I have called my camera “the time cage.”

Studio and Path

I am an electrical engineer, a Technion graduate, and a devoted autodidact in the world of photography, bringing to my work a combination of analytical precision and intuitive sensitivity. In the studio I built for myself, I find a space for experimentation, reflection, and calm — a place where light becomes a language.

Artistic Approach

I am a conceptual still-life photographer, creating thought-provoking images through real three-dimensional installations made from materials such as wood, plaster, metal, ropes, and found objects, and at times fire, water, or smoke, exploring the encounter between matter, light, and the artist’s intent. I build my compositions in a slow and meticulous process that often lasts weeks, until the image emerges and strengthens from within.

For me, photography is not a “click,” but a journey of experimentation, movement, and shifting light; a composition of meaning. My works aim to evoke thought, not to dictate a truth. My camera is the instrument with which I sketch thoughts and memories, and freeze the moment in which light and matter speak to one another.
